It's easy to say a TT tows as good as a 5er when you tow with a Dually. Too many are undersized when they tow a TT and no matter what the hitch is they will NEVER tow as well as a 5er.
You are absolutely correct. A poorly set up TT will never tow as good as 5er.
But a well set up, properly tuned bumper pull is another thing. It is just that most people do not set a bumper pull properly or have undersized tow vehicles.
You can take dually out of the equation. I have towed for years with a single tire set up. It is just now that I have a dually.
