I was a math and physics loving student, never gave towing a TT much thought, naturally less stable, 5er naturally more stable! It is all simple science!
Yes, with a proper hitch a TT can tow very well, but those hitches have limits as to what they can over come.
Neither are perfect, but a 5er is naturally more stable as there is no leverage on the rear axle.
On edit: Forget the loss of bed space! We keep all the stuff that goes in the truck bed in the 5es basement. The only packing for a trip
