5'ers are definitely more stable. I'm personally looking at them because my personal experience growing up in my teenage years, my brother let me drive his truck with his 5'er, and I remember how easy it was to hook up and how little it wagged. Another reason why I'm looking at 5'ers is the physically smaller footprint of an equivalent size TT when you're hooked up and travelling on the road. Easier to access state parks and such which is where I like to do my camping. The only way to get a smaller foot print when driving and navigating towns is to own a motor home.
Ambitions for owning a 5'er is one of the big drivers that pushed my out of my 2010 F-150 and into my current ride in my signature. Being a little naive a little ways back, I figured that 11,500 lbs tow rating was enough, however that never factored in the payload which was pretty limited on my 150, and that tow rating mainly included 1/4 tank of fuel and a near weightless driver with non-existent family in a crew cab along with no bumper and other fun things the OEMs did to garner their tow ratings. I'm glad that a recent article forced Ford and GM to clean-up how they garner tow ratings for their trucks. Seems like Nissan, Toyota and RAM were all fine rating with fully-dressed vehicles over the same time period.
And to top off my post, Crimson & Grey all the way!
