Tuning the tv antenna
Is there a procedure? I find myself wasting a lot of time fumbling around with the antenna rotator going back and forth and and running the auto scan numerous times!

Be sure your winegard BATWING antenna has the dipoles added for better UHF reception. Should look like this GOOGLE photo...
Also be sure you are pointing the antenna in the proper direction. The antenna shown here is pointing to the RIGHT of the photo.
We too have the SURELOCK meter but it does pick up signals from other sources. We always know where to expect to find the HDTV signals so will peak up in that direction.
Another trick I do is after I have the BATWING Antenna pointed and start the TV SCAN if I don't start seeing DIGITAL TV SIGNALS being counted right away within the first 15% of the count I will stop scanning and move the antenna abit one direction or the other and then restart the scan... My VIZIO HDTV takes forever to complete its required TV SCAN...
