Two "controversial" questions...

My head is spinning trying to understand two potentially debatable questions after my research. I pretty much gave up on getting a fifth wheel due to my truck height until I had to tow an old one this weekend and remembered how nice they tow. My truck is ~2-3" taller than a 'normal' 2500/3500 keep in mind...
1) How nose high is acceptable? My understanding is equalizer axles are designed to accommodate this...
2) Do any manufacturers allow/warranty GN adapters? Trailer I towed had one...
Constructive thought would be appreciated! :)

  • Have personally seen THREE 5ers blow rear tires at speed. In all three cases they were towing nose high, so overloaded rear tires blew.

You can always fully load it and then weigh axles on scales. I'll bet rear axle is heavier.
  • Wonder if the truck could be lowered. When I full timed I liked my 5ver but in WY you need 4WD. It causes problems with 5vers. I have a GN stock trailer but they claim the 5vers aren't built strong enough for a GN hitch. I tried a small bumper pull but went to a MH. I do have the advantage of a generator in a MH.
