I don't understand the angst, frankly. Since at least 1997 that I know of, RV trailers over 4500 lbs GVWR have always required inspections in Texas. I take mine to the neighborhood Jiffy Lube (where I take up the whole parking lot when they open on Sunday morning) to get it inspected every year.
