That 5.4 is going to struggle especially if you have the 3:55 axle. Also as mentioned, you will be limited with you truck payload, not what it can tow (those are two different things) . You would need to find a fifth wheel with loaded pin weight of about 1,000 lbs or less. With pin being 20 percent of the loaded weight of any fifth wheel you will be limited to a fifth with a gvwr (not dry weight) of 5000 lbs or less. I recommend going with a TT with gvwr of 6000 or less with that truck. Tongue weight on a TT properly loaded runs about 13 percent.
