UltraLight 5th Wheel recommendation
I am looking to purchase a new Ultralight 5th wheel. I have been looking at JAYCO Eagle HT 26.5RLS and the Cougar Lite 26SAB. They are very similar in floor plans but differ greatly in construction....

I was originally drawn to the Jayco HT Eagle line, but in the size we wanted, the Cougar High Country series had 200-300 lbs lower pin weight. I am within all specs except for the rear axle where I am over by 500 lbs. 57,000 on the truck now with 12,000 miles of towing from Maine to Wyoming without issue. I would have gotten the HD Payload package had it been available for 2011, but even now it is special order. With constraints placed on me by the DW, I went with "over vs way over." Figure on loaded for travel adding 250-300 lbs to the pin weight over dry.
