Unhitching SuperGlide hitch with truck at an angle

How straight in line does the tow vehicle have to be when un-hitching a SuperGlide hitch. Son in law has a new 5er with the SuperGlide and it seems like if the truck is at an angle after backing in, ...

We have the superglide and always straighten the truck before unhitching. Putting it in park, or giving it a bump in reverse, after chocking the trailer, always releases the pressure and allows the release handle to easily come out.
