I have a very flexible Keystone tin and stick pull behind 31' trailer. The guy that builds the Steady Fast system is a local fellow and being I liked his design I drove down to his shop and picked it up. Where the Steadyfast is better in my minds engineering eye is as follows;
Most all trailers are built using nice large side rails but finding a suitable cross beam to attach a strut from the center of the trailer to the jack is not optimal. The Steadyfast gets past that by going frame rail on one side to the jack on the other side. This puts the strut at a lesser angle and gives it a very solid anchor. The Steadyfast uses 3 struts. Two at the front, one cross ways and one long ways, and one cross way at the rear.
Basically what is taking place with this system is you are anchoring the front of the trailer at one point which will prevent fore and aft movement and the front from any side to side movement. The rear strut stabilizes the rear from side to side. It is simple and amazing.
Being my 31' tow behind had it's jacks placed almost at the end of the frame rails I moved them inboard 2'. Think of a long bridge that is being supported only at the very ends. I also put jacks at the center in front of the wheels. I use large jack pads, about 11"X15"X3.5" at the four corners and 6"X5"X3.5" at the center.
Before these mods just walking around the trailer just about sloshed water out of the toilet. I mean we were getting seasick! Now we have a steady ship. Sure, you can feel it, but it's 1000% better than before.
BTW, the Steadyfast guy is a 5'er type. He originally developed this system for 5th wheels.

So back to the OP's question. The universal stabilizer that you refer is not anything close to what the others are talking about here. I tried 2 of these stabilizers and it did help and was only about 85 bucks for 2. Coupled With the X chocks about 80-90 percent of the wiggle left. They were quick to put on and put away as well as adjustable by tightening up the ratchet strap while parked. For a long term solution, I would spend the money for SteadyFast or the others, but if you are park and starts, every day or every other day, then these may be the right ticket. Not 100 percent but better than nothing at all. Thats my 2 cents.

We also use Winfields on the front and they do help. They don't help with front to rear movement but keep the front of the 5er rock solid, side to side. Straight bolt on installation to the landing gear, no drilling or welding. When we got our new 5er, I just took them off our old unit and installed them on the new one.

Valterra stabilizer did nothing for my setup anywhere that I tried it.

I have had UltraFab Eliminators (knockoff JT's) and switched to SteadyFast last year. SteadyFast is a better product.

This spring will see someone's version of the cross type stabilizer. Since last year was the first summer for our 343RL '14 High Country 5er, I opted to use a couple BAL rear scissor stabilizer jacks right at the drop down area of the frame (the Cougar 327RES has a similar if not identical Lippert frame). Those jacks plus the BAL chocks each side between the tires removed probably 90% of the wiggle which is probably about as good as you can get without the JTs or a concrete foundation and the tires 100% off the ground. I also minimized with built up wood pads the amount extension of the rear jacks and front levelers.

Stabilizers have been discussed to death on this forum with an overwhelming nod to JT or Steadyfast system with pretty much everything else being a waste of money. Happy Steadyfast user here.

I bought Winfield stablizers and saw a major improvement in the stability of the trailer. Easy to install and price was a bit less than JT's system. Here

Don't worry about drilling holes in your frame, JT'S and you won't look back.

Spend the extra and go with JTs. You get what you pay for. :)
