Unloading the inside to trade it in !!

When we traded last year the dealer had special camping spots set aside just for that purpose, new unit facing one direction, old unit facing the other. It made it really easy to move all of our stuff.

The staff told us we could camp there for up to 3 days changing all of our stuff over. I thought they were nuts because I figured we could get everything moved and organized in about 2 hours.

We worked on it about 3 hours the first afternoon. It took almost 6 hours the next day and we were finally moved in and organized. Yes, a ton of stuff!

I will say our is fully loaded year round! we camp four seasons and have four seasons worth of cloths! Cookware and the coffee pots, waffle irons, girdle dishes. Towels, towels and more towels. Sets of sheets extra blankets.
When we start full timing need to find space for my beer making equipment!
It was bad enough when we went from the King of the road, we let several items go with the 5er we either didn't want or needed to refresh.

I'm pretty conscious of everything we have in there. We use ours all summer as a family and then during the winter I use it for hunting. I swap our summer stuff for hunting stuff in September and then switch it back to summer in about April when I de-winterize it. We've had ours for 5 years now and about half of our cabinets are still empty. It doesn't go in the camper if we don't use it. I don't have back ups for my back ups like I see a lot of people on here have. I'm not lugging around a ton of extra stuff that you'll most likely never use. A neat and orderly camper is much better than a cluttered one that you don't really know where anything is anymore.

Hate the idea of cleaning house in ours. There is stuff like a spare water pump, a spare landing leg, trailer brake drums & brake plates, salvaged bits & pieces from a previous grill, all matter of odds & ends that might have a use someday.

Anyone else find that the used widget you were holding onto for years suddenly has a purpose a week after tossing it out?

LOL, we just did the same thing on Saturday. I was a bit ashamed of myself there was so much stuff. Well, the new one is 5' longer and I'll be we can fill it up too!

I took all my stuff out of the old at home and then you can put what you really need back in the new. Weed out now.

Another flaw with this method is because something will get missed and remain in the old camper. Then, when you go out on your first camp-out with the new camper, you'll realize you don't that item.

When we cleaned out our old camper, I unloaded almost everything. The wife helped some. But after I had everything out, she went back and searched every nook and cranny.

Then at the dealer when we were getting ready to switch trailers, I unhooked the trailer and the dealer took my truck to make some adjustments. I thought... eh! Why not? One more look at the old baby. I went inside, and opened all the cabinets, and sure enough ... more stuff! Where did "that" come from? Must have been hiding in the bottomless abyss and got shook up on it's last ride with us!

This Thursday is xfer day for us... ghesh, and it'll be cold, and it's all ice now. Hope what we have fits cuz we're miles and miles from my own shop.

My wife is a pack rat... this is gonna be FUN !!!

Whatever you haven't used in a while get rid of it. No need to have the weight and the space for unneeded stuff. Organize things to put them in groups of how and when you will use them.

Just unloaded mine to put in with a dealer on consignment. Can't believe the junk buried in the storage compartment. A lot of duplications of items like dog bones and extension cords.
