I have a checklist too, she follows me around and makes sure everything is done right. BUT I do follow a list to hook up and unhook.
I did not last year around this time as we had the grandson with us. I about had her pull the truck out from under the hitch without putting landing gear down. The grandson threw me out of my routine and i was so worried about him i forgot to follow procedures. I am talking about 1 inch or less. I was yelling stop stop stop. he was crying because I was yelling. I told her keep her foot on the brake and don't do nothing until i could get the gears down. As soon as i got the gears down I had her put the parking brake on and told her come get him and I'll finish up with her watching HIM. Love him to pieces but it just about cost me a tail gate and bed of my truck.
its easy to get complacent.
