Hello-I just purchased a 1998 Jayco 243RKS. I noticed that the bathroom skylight appears to be inverted....the bubble portion is protruding into the shower instead of outward above roof.I am perplexed with this installation. I do not know if it was installed from Jayco this way or if original owner installed it this way. Unfortunately, I was not able to ask original owner, as I purchased it from a dealer.With this installation I am unable to stand up in shower.Have any of you ever seen this type of install? What would it take to install with skylight bubble protruding outward above roof?Thanks

Interesting. What does it look like from the top? Does it fill up with water? You didn't try standing in the shower before purchase?

What's it like on the roof?Big 'pool' or another panel (flat/slight dome)?Big 'pool' it is wrong!Even IF correct....I would have to 'modify' (get rid of) cause I couldn't stand up in that shower :E

I stood in it when I was inspecting it for purchase. It was not a deal breaker as I know it can be fixed......anything can be fixed!

The skylight is probably a two piece assembly, an upper or outside "bubble" turned up, and lower "bubble" turned down. On my Montana, both are turned up. I think someone just assembled that wrong. I would not be able to stand in my shower if mine was turned down.

So, I will order a new set and install.

I removed the inner bubble and this is what I have to work with. Will the outer bubble flex enough to conform to the radius of the roof? The roof slopes downward towards side. Skylight opening is 14 3/8" X 22 1/2". The 22 1/2" is the cut across the width of the roof and the 14 3/8" is cut along length of roof.

Has to be more to it then more light.. Why replace the outside bubble if not damaged?

Per original owner.....

He flipped it because it creates more light in shower and he is pretty short so he didn't need the height

I've never understood why so many brands put one of these in the bathroom. Mine has one too. Just another place to potentially leak.
