I've see them at Harbor Freight, very reasonable with coupon. I bought mine at Sears for around $50 several years ago. Pick a spot, the same spot on each tire. I stick to the tread groves but consistency is the key since you are looking for changes in your normal. My TPMS alarms at 165F and that happened twice before I had the brake recall done. Normally they read 20 to 25 degrees above ambient. The inside dually and the sunny side will always be a little higher. I don't IR the hubs but do touch them every stop checking for abnormal temp elevation.
