I contacted Hijacker and asked what was the proper procedure for sliding back the hitch, they stated that you had to take the weight off the hitch by putting the landing gear down. Then you can pull the safety pins and move the truck forward and allow the pins to fall into the new holes. No need to disconnect the truck.
