Really do you think they are going to fix everything under the warrantee befor you even purchase it .you might get them to agree to fix certain things befor you accept delivery.but that will be after you buy it.
Absolutely. We had an ordered Rockwood delivered to the dealer with over $5Ks worth of factory defects found before purchase. Those were Forest Rivers numbers as per the approved warranty authorizations to the dealer, of which I still have a stack of copies of somewhere. Who was to know how long that process would of taken as after 6 weeks not one required part had shipped to the dealer, and I pulled the plug on the whole deal. I took another chance and had the dealer order another same brand and floorplan unit, which was built 500% better than the first, and took 7 weeks to the day to have delivered. The dealer was still waiting on parts for the first. They patched that POS together and sold it.I happened to be camped beside the poor sucker who purchased it the following year, and did not have the heart to tell him the story, but could still notice the out of square ward slide from 75' away.
The first one (bad) was built on a Wednesday, the second (great) was built on a Friday. So much for that theory.
We also had two Thor units prior which were about as problem free as you'll ever get, an Aerolite and a Keystone.
The moral of the story is you had better look at any of them on a single unit basis no matter who the holding company is, what day they were built, or what brand.
One thing for certain though, Keystone RV will not do one single thing without a dealers involvement, and if you happen to get them to do something special, like let you return to the factory, consider yourself lucky and one of the elite few. It's a corporate policy and they abide by it religously. On the other hand Forest River (Rockwood division) just sent me new fender skirts direct and all it took was an email and a picture. 14 months beyond the original one year warranty and 2 months beyond expiration the optional 2nd year warranty, which they no longer offer.
