Voltage changes

Hey all,

Looking to get into a 5th wheel TH. We have been looking, studying, playing, and acting like we live in them for a while now. The wife really likes the Voltage 3950 and the Cyclone 4100. My concern with the Voltage is the dark past with these units. I know of the major problems they've had, but how are they doing now (I noticed they say Keystone vice Dutchmen on them now).

My experience so far with Voltage is my neighbor. They have a 2011 model year. It was in for 8 weeks getting the whole front frame fixed....their extended warranty covered it...they have had ongoing problems with their big slide going in crooked, have to push on it sometimes.

How are they today?

Thanks,
Cale

  • Any idea on the floor plans? I really like their trailers, but want something a bit smaller.

Have you looked at the Grand Design Momentum line? They are adding 2 more floor plans soon too. I love mine, and my other choices were the same as yours.

Those look nice. I wonder what the weight on the axles are... Only two 8k lb axles on a 19k lb TH. Have you taken it across the scale loaded? There is a dealer in Fresno, I think we are going to head out there this Saturday for a look.

    Thanks,

  • I had a 2011 Cyclone 370C for two years. Therefore I would HIGHLY recommend the Voltage. Its what I would buy if I were in the market again.
  • 2012 model here and have had one motor in the bedroom slide fail. After that haven't had any problems with the slides. Have had some problems with the leveling system but it is electric and the new ones are hydraulic. Overall very happy.
  • It took a little bit of messing around at the dealer to get the slide limits set during the pre-delivery. They were still a bit sticky, but once I started lubing my slides, I had no further problems with them.
  • Have you guys had any slide problems, so to speak? I was told they may be going away from Schwintek (spelling) and going to cables....I am not a fan of cables, so may need to make a decision soon...

  • We also are happy with our 2103 (had for over 2 years) 3950. The problems are all about as expected.

  • I think you can find both good and bad examples across all the mass produced brands

I've also been happy with our 3950; not 100% trouble free; but well within what I'd consider expectable
