Voltage, Cyclone, XLR

So we are finally gettin real close to pulling the TH trigger, got to get the F350 firt though. We've got it narrowed down to Voltage 3950, Cyclone 4100 King, or the XLR 415 AMP (but the Voltage and Cyclone are the top 2). Trying to get some opinions from people that looked at these and why you did or didnt choose one. As usual the more info I can digest the better to hopefully help us make the right decision. THanks in advance.

  • im typically more on the fringe too about the weight policy but decided it would probably be a lot better to just go dually. going to suck when im in town but i also see other people doing it all the time so it can be done i guess

i like the XLRs too but main negative for them is the nearest dealer is 3.5 hrs away. if issues happen thats a long way compare to 1.5 hrs of the cyclone voltage dealer.
  • IMHO - go with the XLR or the Voltage. I have too have never heard of Heartland calling people who own their units. Perhaps you were part of a grand experiment :D
  • I really should have a dually, but my truck is my daily driver and I don't care to live with a dually in the city 85% of the time. There are a lot of disadvantages to having a dually!

My beliefs don't rally align with the weight police. I was just pointing out that from my experience, I wouldn't want a trailer any bigger than 15-16,000 behind a SRW.

Of the three, I like the Voltage the best, but I didn't end up buying it either so my opinion doesn't really count. When you say your are getting an F350, will it be a dually? The reason I ask is my Fuzion is smaller and lighter than all of those and I consider it to be an absolute maximum load for the SRW F350. Not to get all weight police on you, but there is no way to be absolutely legal on weights with a SRW on any of those three. I am within the RAWR of my 350, but over on GVWR by about 700 lbs. That is with the trailer loaded to about 1,000 less than its rated capacity.

Oh please for the love of God lets not get the weight police involved in this thread, lol. Ive heard enough of that******anytime I ask a tow question. It will be a dually. I wouldnt be getting rid of my perfectly good F250 for a one ton single and hate the thought of having a dually as a daily driver but better to be safe than sorry.
  • That has to be the first time I have ever heard of the "manufacturer" calling an owner out of the blue to check on them. I can see maybe the dealer but not the manufacturer.

Wow. That is awesome. Maybe they lost my number. :B

  • What a fun situation to be in.

Most folks know me too well for my anti-Cyclone opinion. Ours was terrible in the first two years but Heartland customer service made it ten times worse.

The Voltages are one of my top picks for whenever I can get another toy hauler. But Forest River campers have always done us very, very well. They all have their strengths and weaknesses so just go with what suits you best.

    Have fun. :B
