If the FW has never been waxed, may I suggest that before your trip, you get a bottle of REJEX and do your front cap. I wax the sides and back with Maguires Gold Coat, but on the cap I use REJEX. Found out about it from a full-timer who couldn't keep up with the bugs until he began using it. Try it on the cap and when you get home you may want to do entire FW with it.
