We have the Splendide 2100XC vented washer/dryer combo. If you decide upon the combo system, definitely get the vented unit. The dryer functions like a regular dryer with the vented models.
This unit is sufficient to wash what we use and wear on a daily basis. During travel we routinely put two loads per day in upon landing at our overnight location. The nice thing about the second load (usually towels) is that since it washes and then automatically switches to drying, you set it and you can go to bed, and you have the fresh load of towels in the AM.
So far it has worked well for us, and particularly when traveling and trying to cover distance. It makes us quite self-contained.
Also, our was installed post-sale by the dealer, but the unit had the W/D prep. We bought ours through PPL.
