Doing laundry at an RV park or laundromat costs us an absolute minimum of ~$5-7/week depending on the particular location and how often we're washing sheets and towels. That ~$300/yr which means that simple breakeven on the purchase occurs in 3-5 years for most people.
As far as we're concerned, having a washer/dryer is "priceless" but even if you are driven by cost, it's not as expensive a purchase as it might seem. We bought an extended 5-yr warranty for our new Spendide so getting 5 years service out of it is assured.
