Washing Roof on 5th/w lots of dirt, I used murphy oil soap was that good or bad???

I use Murphy's mixed with Awesome cleaner. Works very well. The roof doesn't come out white, but it gets the worst of the dirt, crud, and tree sap off. And it gives me a chance to check the caulking.
