Yeah, I agree. The biggest problem is access. It sounds like you already have good access since you've worked on it a couple times. I just ordered a brand new tank through Amazon and it only cost $138 and, since I'm an Amazon Prime member, there was no shipping cost and I had it in 3 days! Can't beat that. Why mess with continuing to try and repair it when a replacement is so cheap. The tanks only come with the outlet already in it so you do have to get fittings and drill holes for the inlet, air vent, etc. but that's not a big deal.
