RV Water Filter Store....LINK
X2 on this. The man knows RV water filtration.
I fulltime so my system might be different then what you want.
I went to Lowes/Home Depot and bought a couple whole house filters (that take standard filters). Do not get clear ones (algae). I used PVC to connect them. You will also need to add the appropriate hose connection to the inlet and outlet ends. I buy filter elements from the RV water filter store. He can also sell you short hoses for connection purposes.
Do yourself a favor and buy a good Watts pressure regulator with a gage from him too.
If you will only use the rig a few times during the summer, then maybe just get one of the Camco blue filters and toss it at the end of each camping year. Let it drain between trips. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIIn all my years camping/Rvng I have rarely found a NEED for water filtration.
Rarely do I get my water via a stream/lake/river.
Don't even have any filters on house water supply which is same as vast majority of CG water sources.
YES some places use well water but if they are providing it for public use then it is filtered/treated and routinely tested.
Did use those in-line blue water filter cartridges you can get at Walmart to place on water hose when we traveled for 7 yrs.
But other then that.....WHY? - Landroamer1ExplorerI use a whole house filter with a string wound element.
- Dandy_DanExplorerWhy not go to one of the big box stores? You can purchase a whole house filter for around $20 that will do everything you want. I have used one for a few years now.

- Us_out_WestExplorerMore info would be helpful.
What kind of camping do you do?
Are you fulltime, seasonal, once in awhile?
What kind of RV do you have?
How much water do you use on a trip?
Stuff like that....
