Water level indicator light ???

We have an 09 Bighorn 3370, when I press the test button to see how much fresh water is in the tank it will no longer read 1/3, 1/2 or full, the only light that comes on is the empty light with the tank full or empty. Any way to fix this? Thanks
  • Opening the belly isn't as scary as it looks. Pull down a little bit of the cover til you find what you want and then go for it. I got into mine to reroute the brake wire for discs and to put in a better flowing tank drain and I ended up doing several fixes. I replaced the dinky drain tube with all 1/2" threaded ips plastic fittings and ball valve, got the droops out of the vent tubing etc, etc etc. I also teed into the drain pipe just above the new ball valve and put in a 3/8 barb/tygon tubing and ran it up the outside of the frame so now I have a sight gauge for the tank. I missed having the water tank where I could see it, like in our previous smaller 5ers... not anymore! Craig
  • Gave up relying on those lights a long time ago.

The fresh water works, sort of. The grey water lies. The black water is full stupid: Dump it & it goes to 1 light. Make 1 'deposit' & it reads all 4 lights.

Always run a few gallons of water into the tank after dumping & leave it to slosh around. Never dump after only 1 or 2 days.

RV tank sensors are like boat fuel tank sensors. They either don't work or cannot be relied on.
  • Pull level monitor panel and check for loose wires

If you have access to water tank....check the 4 sensors wiring.

Otherwise.......when water pump goes 'burrrrrrp' time to add more water to fresh water tank.
  • The only fix I have heard of that actually works it to tear the belly out of the beast and install new sensor systems on the tanks. Not a project for the faint of heart.
