Waxing 5th wheel

I am wanting to wash and wax our 5th wheel, looking for the best product to use that will not harm the graphics. Want to see what others have had the best luck with that is easy to use and works the best. Looking for something that will not fade the graphics or cause them to crack
  • I keep my rig clean and use NuFinish polish on all surfaces. Been doing this for years on many rvs and never had damage to vinyl graphics.
The trick is not to wait until rig is filthy and dull. Protect and keep new finish looking new and it will always look nice.
  • I believe the Happy Prospector has been out in that desert sun too long. He is delusional.

Ah, yes...waxing. We are sitting in a boatyard in the middle of waxing right now. Great fun.

Product of choice is Mequires Flagship. Once a year for all but front cap which gets done twice a year. The graphics get it as well. The Mequires brings the colour back but the biggest problem is the quality of the graphics material. RV builders go cheap on everything.

Just had my wife wax the 5'er with McGuires RV/Marine wax,and it took her all day to do the job, she does an excellent job and McGuires makes the rig shine. She is getting older and slowing down some but it is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of trailer maintenance as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are overly sensitive, and there’s nothing worse than an oversensitive woman.

She had to take a break when she was only half-finished washing and waxing the 5th Wheel. I tried not to make a scene. I’m a fair man. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me, too.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support her. I’m not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older. However, guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging girlfriend or wife because of this post, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile.

Has her lawyer sent you the notice yet?

  • 303 Protectant or WashWaxAll products do not contain petroleum which is what will harm the decals. I use 303 on all the rubber seals and such and Wash Wax all on the entire body including graphics. 303 is actually good for the graphics but I don't have the patience to do them with it so I just go over the entire rig with the WWA product.
  • Larry,
Not sure what is the best product, but, "wanting to wash and wax our 5th wheel."
Are you sure you are "wanting" to do this...:@

The first time I did it I was NEVER, "wanting," to do it again...especially the wax part!
  • My Voltage manual says not to wax the graphics, your's may be different. Otherwise I just use a good carnuba wax, like Meguier's.
