Weekend Warrior Electrical Problem - Need Guidance

Okay, just to put an end to this mess, whoever said I had the polarity wrong and hooked the cables up backwards is a winner! That was the last thing I thought was wrong, you know, black is negative and red is positive, we'll not in this case. I finally figured the black cable was to the generator and had to be positive, so after switching them around, replacing the fuse for the 3rd time on the converter, I'm back in business. Thanks for all the input after reading everything it finally sunk in!
