I don't think this can really be referred to as a "new product" since I believe there have been previous iterations of this product. Sometimes there's a reason the products don't catch on, regardless of how far-seeing and innovative they appear to the more "enlightened". :)
My thought is if you have enough truck to haul your trailer, why do you need one of these? Seems like the answer would be, you don't have enough truck and this is the bandaid. JMO of course.
Open mindedness is good, just don't be so open minded your brains fall out. :)
I agree with you completely about the 'catching on' part. My issue is the ones who dog it sight unseen without even researching it or trying it. The "It's different that what I use so it must not be any good" attitude. I also have no issues with people pointing out potential problems.....heck that is what I am looking for. If someone doesn't like the looks of it...that's fine. Just do a little looking before completely dissing something.
In speaking with the designer of this (he is an engineer) one of the biggest benefits is load distribution. You are PULLING a weight not hauling a weight. Also with a good portion of the braking being handled by the new axle (Same axle on an F450 he advised) it would seem to me that that is the biggest benefit. It would probably provide better braking with an F250 pulling it than with an F450 hauling it. Just my thoughts.
