Weight Police,
Allthough I think you are right this time, you made a lot of assumption that have not been valid for years. Not only is the 1/2.. 3//4 and 1 ton meaninglless. 150/1500 etc are misleading.
I have a 1500 with a payload rating of 2,090 pounds and over 3,000 pounds of capacity on the OEM tires and axle. I can easilly pull/haul the subject 5er.
We really need details before giving absolute advice.
LOL!
I am not the weight police by a long shot, as I run over GVWR,that said I am under both axle ratings. I also do NOT have any suspension enhancements other than a set off Bilstien 5100 shocks.
There is a point be it a 1500/150/half ton or a 3500/350/ one ton where you pass the point where you are too far over the ratings to be safe, or expect the TV to last any time at all.
If you are a believer that Air Bags, Timbrens or super Springs can make a 1500/150/ half ton into a 3500/350/one ton then I sure don't want to be near you on the Highway.
In agreement....again, we KNOW the truck that the OP has, easy to research...we didn't clump all 1/2 tons into one pile...so it was easy to figure with no 'assumptions", the info on this truck....but facts tend to get into some peoples way:)
