Stop devoting your life to money!
Sometimes the offer is just too good to turn down. Had a guest lecturer in grad school who fell into that trap. Retired at 45, playing with his stocks, shooing trap and skeet and hanging out with his family. A friend of his called him and said his company was looking for a new president for U.S. operations. Lecturer said that he'd let the other guy know if he thought of anyone. Other guys says, "we want YOU; how much do you need?" 1st guy tosses out what he thought was just a really stupid number, thinking "they'll =never= pay that"...and they said "DONE! When can you start?" He worked for another 5 years, then re-retired and bought even better trap and skeet guns. :-)
