Personally I'm a long way from retiring myself. Nevertheless I can't wait to leave the rat race.

At some point quality time and good health are more important than money/career/employment!
Unless that too good to refuse offer came with a guaranteed good health clause and a guarantee that you will not die within the next 20 years than I think the OP is making a huge mistake.
