The competition in the USA would be by well-established builders like New Horizons, Spacecraft, and others.
"Hands On" input from the buyer is very common.
Suggest a visit to he Heavy haulers Resource Guide on the HDT forum, and visits to the links listed by (member) Jack Mayer in his sig with info on his NH build -and- the Horizons Ambassador info as well as Greg Shields YouTube links.
Besides Jack, there are several owners of 44'(+) 5th wheels.
Robert - (I) Realize the "down under" fifth wheel regs will differ, but with all the same HDTs avail in Australia, wonder why not a Volvo, or a Pete, etc. as a tow vehicle?
BTW - your info would be both welcome and an interesting addition to the SKPs HDT forum...:C

The Isuzu is by our definition a light MDT, you could put a vast range of HDT's , many not available in NA. Volvo comes with a 700hp 16 Litre engine built here, Scania 730hp V8.
We also have DAF, Mercedes, Isuzu 530hp,IVECO 560hp built here , Kenworth , designed and built here, Cummins engines up to 650hp. No Peterbuilt, Mack built at Volvo Factory, CAT Trucks,Scania,Western Star, Freightliner, Cab Over and some Navistar. CAT, Navistar and Freightliner not that popular, bottom of the pile
A IVECO Powerstar Conventional

Scania B Triple

New Zealand Hino Forestry Truck same model sold here
