- JanssExplorer IIAgree with others. Very nice drive. Watch out for deer. We must have seen 30 dead deer on the side of the road as we drove across KY on the Bluegrass and Western Pkwys.
- arkansasrunnerExplorerThe scenery is great. We travel that road 2 times a year going to Elizabethtown. One of the best highways that we have traveled. Like BurbMan said, make sure you keep your tank filled.
- Pete_kExplorerAlways enjoy that drive. AS posted not bad traffic and you can enjoy the drive not wonder if some fool will run over you.
- KybiggrayExplorerWe have had many conversations over everything from camping to politics. As for the scenery, I guess being I travel it on a very regular basis, I seem to not think of it as a scenic drive.
Next time I see your old buds, I will tell them Hello for ya - transamz9ExplorerThe Western is very good road for around here. The Bluegrass and Western are the roads I try to take because there is no traffic to deal with.
- travelnutzExplorer IIKybiggray,
WK PKWY was a very good scenic road last January when we took it to Central City from Elizabethtown to visit when going south. About everyone in Central City knows the ex-mayor as he and his wife are some fine people. Very good friends of ours! - BurbManExplorer III think the scenery is awesome! Road is one of the best I have been on...very little traffic, great road surface, 70 mph limit. Beware, very little in the way of services, do not pass a gas station if you are low. They are in the process of making this into I-69.
Small construction zones here and there, but not enough traffic on the road to cause any kind of a backup. Agree on Land Between the Lakes, beautiful place to stop if you have the time. - KybiggrayExplorerI live on beside the Western KY Parkway, pretty decent road, with some road construction going on now around the 53 mm to about the 62. As far as scenery, not much to realy see along the road. Of course if you are going that way, might as well spend a few days at Land Between The Lakes. Hope this helps you out.
