I gotta say, WITHOUT an explanation, it sure LOOKS like road hazzard.. Usually when they blow, they toss the tread...
I wonder what side of the RV, perhaps curb side and they weakened the sidewall buy riding curbs on turns, or toll booths?
If the guy had a background story to back It up, it would be ore believable ( to me at least ) .
Either way, I hope they didn't suffer too much damage.
I was someone who was haunted with the G-614 issues back in 2012.. I lost 2 on 1 trip from PA to Florida.. The first was in Baltimore on the Beltway,, it was mid day and I believe low 80's.. no debris that I could see... that was the rear street side.
I changed it out on the side and went on my way with no damage...
When In Richmond VA, I purchased a new one and rehung the spare, the next night I was on 95 about 10:00 at night... My wife said she heard a noise, I said she was crazy... everything seamed good. BUT since a Happy Wife = Happy Life , I pulled off the next exit into a Cracker Barrel to look.
Sure enough I tossed the tread on the front street side.. The inner was still aired to 80.. again, NO DAMAGE.....
I found a tire guy in Darlington the next morning, he had 3, I purchased ALL 3....
I didn't keep any carcass as I wanted to cary a full aired spare, and with no damage , I didn't feel I needed to fight with GY over 5 year old tires...
When I returned, I sold all 5 to a trailer builder I know and used that money to buy new Goodyear G114's at 17.5's...
