Wet bolts install

Yeah, I ran a reamer through all my bushings after I drove them in. Most were fine but a couple were a little tight.

.............IF , the mfgers accurately align and Install the axles before shipment , LIKE they should , to a dealer , Correct track is NOT needed ! If , the axles are not correctly aligned from the mfger , the Mfger should be responsible for fixing the MIS Alignment . , jf

Do keep in mind that when installing the bronze bushings into the eye of the leaf spring, you will want to run a 9/16" bit through the bushing and take out the high spots since seldom is the eye perfectly round. This suggestion was per Dexter.

Wet bolts and Correct Tract are next on my list.

All good points from every poster. It takes time, patience, lining up everything, a bit of lube, willingness to use a hammer &, if available, some help.

Lucky me, the DW is not affraid to get her hands dirty & know tools in the toolbox & where they are better than I know stuff in the galley.

We are installing the Correct Track system next month. As long as everything is up in the air we will replace the wet bolts & plates while we are at it. A few days in a boatyard with access to large blocks of wood, 12 ton jacks, anything else & we should be good.

X2 I had the same problem but I was lucky enough to discover the problem before installation.

To further what ScottG noted, I had mine installed but the service manager told me to add more greas after driving a short distance.

I have installed wet bolts on two 5ers by myself.
Not all that hard, just takes time, I did them one at a time so the springs / axle was still captured by at least one bolt.

Good tip Scott, the last thing you'd want to do is install them, and not be able to use them.

Even if they replaced them free, it would be a lot of labor, after you had everything assembled.
