Congratulations on the new home.
I would not worry about the trailer tires prior to your 270 miles trip home. Get it weighed, get it home, and then consider how you want to upgrade. You probably want to get rid of the ST tires, but it doesn't have to be on day one.
I would worry about the tires on your truck. The F250 rear axle is the same as an F350 and can handle that weight fine, but the OEM tires are rated to match the derated axle. If they are 17" you can pretty much be sure they are not sufficient. If you happen to have the upgraded 18" you might be okay. I would not want to take a 270 journey on undersized truck tires.
Follow the manufacturers advice on adjusting the brake controller. I have to add, the advice to adjust the brake controller on sand or gravel is really bad. Don't do that. In fact, skidding tires on gravel is a quick way to rip the tread out of a tire. How do I know? Done it! Gravel is sharp.
Good luck.
