  • GAWR 5080#

    2 tires..5080#

    No margin!

MFG. only put on tires to cover axle weights.....not trailer weight. They don't include pin/tongue weight.

    My trailer GVWR is 14,375#
Standard was 6K axles/'E' rated tires.........I upgraded to 7K axles, 'G' rated tires and 4000# spring packs.
Shouldn't have had to...that should have been standard.
  • Looks good to me. 5'er has a GVW of 11,995-20% for pin=2400=9600lbs on tires.
Tires @2540x4=10160lbs. 560lbs to spare. Closer than I would want, but in reality he's probably not putting 27-2800lbs in it either. Dry weight of 9200lbs means he'll probably be around 10500-11,000 max. Minus pin of 21-2200lbs and he's at 8800lbs on the tires. That's a cushion of 1360lb. Or +340lb per tire. Certainly a different brand would be in order.

What's the problem! (Other than China-bombs). Weight on the tires will be less than their rating as 13% to 15% of the TT weight will be on the hitch.
Not so long ago many TT manufacturers used to rate the tires LESS than the GVWR of the trailer to account for the hitch weight.
