Next up install BikerBars...
- 64thunderboltExplorer IIgave it a pat and a kiss and told her camping season is coming soon.
- OkieJImExplorerAdded two Trojan T-105's for house batteries and re-wired the old 12 volt battery to just be used for the tongue jack. Next will be to install two solar panels the charge controller a ts-45 PWM and Trimetric 2025RV battery monitor. This will take some time. Oh I'm new here and have a Rubicon 2100.
- 1L243Explorer IIWhy risk it if you don't have to. Balancing a 900 lb motorcycle with one leg going backwards down a steep ramp is a tricky maneuver. If it works, that's cool..
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIHow many do you need? The bike will hold itself up if you balance it decently. This is the way I do it and it works well for me. Never an issue.
I'm just saying that using the clutch isn't the only way to get a bike down. What works for me may not work for you. - 1L243Explorer IIYeah then your coming down the ramp with only one foot to hold your bike up.
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIOr just use both brakes. Front brake only will slide, but use both and you're good to go, after all that's what they're designed for. :)

Won't hurt, but it doesn't need it.
Trailer only came with three rubber bumpers on the outside of the ramp door. I added two more today so now I have five, which I hope will help to spread the load when I take my Goldwing up the ramp for the first time.
When I added my ramp extension, I support the ramp with scissor jacks at only two points close to the load.
Voltage 3950 - soonernationExplorerGot 4 new Maxxis tires installed and cleaned the roof.

I agree completely with your statement to use the clutch as brake. I would add to start the engine so you don't spin it backwards which can be a bad thing for some engines.
It's coming down the ramp which is the most fun! My front tire will skid all the way down the ramp. I put the bike in gear and then use the clutch as a brake. Also when rear wheel of bike is on the ground and the front still on the ramp you may find yourself not being able to put your feet down.
You will have to let us know how it goes.
