- BadhabtExplorer*heavy sigh"...cmon spring!

- danojenoExplorerInstalled new leaf springs yesterday. Today I noticed the generator knocking and it shut down. The air filter holder on the Onan 4000 broke so I had to unbolt the carb and track down a replacement. Just when I thought I was getting caught up.
- bkirkpatrickExplorerPulled the Suburban water heater diode out which was the size of a lolly-pop stick. Have to flush it and replace it.
- MartyMooseExplorerGot my new cover on just in time! 3-5 inches of snow here in central Ohio??
Cover purchased for both protection and it makes the TH stand out less which is stored beside our house ( cover is same color has our house ). Figured it might extend the life of the decals also. - FunnyCamperExplorer IIstill unpacking from the last trip.
:(
getting out all the boogy boards, swim stuff....but will gear up for the 'winter' beach trip we have planned over Christmas WEE - kjk66ssExplorerJoe: what did you lube the slide rails with and what did you spray the seals with?
- joebedfordNomad IIILubed 6 wheel bearings, lubed EZ Flex suspension components, lubed Schwintek slide rails and rollers (X3 slides), sprayed all slide seals (X3 slides) and repaired split in horizontal sheet metal below left propane tank.
I think I'm finally ready for the RV season to start in 2 weeks! - cwill925ExplorerFirst, I added an under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. Got lights from Lowes that are LED with dimmer controls. Second, the wife wanted the bathroom door to open from the opposite side. Original was left hand pull which kind of pushed you down the steps as it opened. I switched the hinge side, now it's a right hand pull which creates a sight barrier between the living room and bedroom.
- RUFFSTUFFExplorerDropped it off at the dealer today to get some delivery items fixed and ToyLock installed.
- aemedicExplorerI decided that the ground clearance was inadequate for my 7X18 VRV so I decided to install the Perfect Casita (Dexter Torflex #10) Axle Lift Kits to give me an additional 3 inches of ground clearance.
Here is the before:
Here is the Perfect Casita (Dexter Torflex #10) Axle Lift Kit Item#: 610079216846 it takes one kit per axle:
Here is after I placed it on Jack stands and removed the wheels (I used one just before and after the axles). The wheels need to be slightly higher than three inches off the ground so the axles can be lowered enough to fit the blocks between the axle flange and the frame:

I decided that it would be easier to loosen all the bolts on each axle and then lower one side to install the blocks. This would keep the axles stable since the drum is offset. If the axle is totally free, the drums are going to want to swing down making it harder to line them up during reassembly. This worked out great until I got to the other side. I found the bolts became slightly bound due to the angle of the axle flange vs the frame flange. It wasn't too bad, I just had to turn the bolts out of the holes rather than just slip them out. Everything is left loosely assembled until all the blocks are in place.

As you can see, I supported the axles with the floor jack during assembly. Once everything was in place and hand tight, I put a little upward pressure on the axles to make sure the blocks and axles were seated. Everything was torqued to 90 ft lbs.
Tomorrow I am going to lengthen the brake wires and make sure the connections are better than the quick connects that the factory used.
Once it is finished I will post some final pictures.
Here are the after pictures:
