Same here! I pull the cover off in October. - Crazy_CooterExplorerSounds so depressing!
Our camping season is just kicking off! - jgos929ExplorerWinterized it last night. We had a cold snap blow through a little earlier than I expected.
- BadhabtExplorerGot back from a great weekend at the ocean yesterday...and sadly (heavy sigh)...drained the water heater, blew out the water lines, added some RV antifreeze to the traps, put in some Stabil in the fuel tank, set the bucket of DampRid by the sink. Just need to bring in the LCD tv and cover up the beast for winter.

Sure looks better than factory to me. Towed it yet?
It is definitely better than factory in construction and component quality/quantity!
Just towed it the 10 miles home to the shop twice. Feels much different and looks way more stable in the mirrors with the Canam in the back. My wife has followed it about 400 miles total in the past and she noticed a difference following me home last night.....
Gonna put 120 miles on it this weekend. Even though I have avoided it in the past, I even put fuel in the rear tank for a change!
Pin weight is up just enough to make the truck drop that 1/2" to set it on the overloads without air in the bags. Need to get a weight tag now. Hope to see 2900-3300 after redistributing some items in the cabinets....I get to use the garage floor storage again! - stsmarkExplorerSure looks better than factory to me. Towed it yet?

- BigDogF250ExplorerIt's been a busy couple of months getting ready for the first desert trip of the season which is this weekend. This little saga started with a couple of blowouts that demolished the passenger side wheel well in April last year, thank you ST tires.
- Rebuilt the wheel well, Giant RV had a new plastic liner that fit the triple axle.
- Flipped the axles using Dexter over/under kits. They were hitting the frame and water tanks causing some havoc with plumbing.
- Repair the broken water tank connections.
- Repair the broken black/gray tank piping (where the two connect was leaking).
- Rewired the brakes to a central point and soldered every connection, using weather proof twist on wire nuts over that. Plugged into truck to make sure it passed the controller tests.
- Added support on both ends of the wheel well to resolve a sagging wall that was also sliding away from the trailer.
- Added a new support in between two tires in the wheel well, not exactly on center but directly between the windows that are over the well.
- 6 New tires, saving up so the next purchase is 16" rims and Ribs.
- Replaced one of the roof vents, for some reason it was the only one that was destroyed by the sun, had three or four cracks in it.
- Installed 4 new MaxAir vent covers to protect all of the roof vents and allow them to be opened in the rain.
- Spread about 1/2 tube of self leveling Dicor on the roof to seal up any spots that were showing cracking or separation.
- Recaulked both wheel well skirts (I had to remove 1 for the repair), the front cap, both sides at the front, the under edges of front walls/skin, brake lights in the back and two windows that had separated.
- Wire wheel and paint the entire front A frame, some light surface rust from rocks and gravel strikes.
- Build a new wheel well box inside the trailer. I have the "oak" cabinets and used an oak stain on pine, not quite dark enough. Maybe a dark oak would have been better.
- Cleaned out all the broken wood from inside the trailer cave man style (leaf blower).
- I also did a huge rebuild on the MX bike (motor, all bearings in suspension, suspension seals and rebuild.
Ready to roll out Friday for a nice three day weekend. - justALnowExplorer

Spent 3 hours yesterday tracking down a "gremlin" with the generator. It would start from the remote switch, but not shut off. Local switch worked fine for both start and stop. Lots of poking and prodding with a multimeter, along with some trial and error and wadda ya know?
I found a broken wire.
Ready for tailGATORing !
Glad you found the cause.
Me too, Dave.
I've messed with it several times over the last few months without success, but other than exercising it really haven't used the gen much lately.
It was a PIA to go out, remove the hot Genturi, open the compartment, pull the gen cover off and hit the local switch.
We're planning a trip to Ocala for Thanksgiving Day where we'll be on gen power and then on to Gainesville for Gators vs Noles. The genny will be on and off several times over a 4 day period, so I'm glad I got it done.
