I don't see us ever living in another house. Unless it's one of our kids who has to take us in when we're too feeble to climb the 5er stairs.
We already bought an RV Lot within a 90 min drive of our 5 remaining children's home. Once we retire, we can stay in one place for long stretches without paying someone else rent. When snow storms are predicted for mountains, we can spend a few days or a weekend at our DD. Our room is already set up with our 'stuff' and the walk-in closet is where we store our overflow and family photos, etc.
Once we don't want to tow it anymore, we can sit permanently on the lot and build a shed. Then have one of them check on us periodically to make sure we're still alive and well. Meanwhile, am sure one of them will continue to call us daily like they do now.
We've also discussed the possibility that one of the DS will buy some acreage and we'll build an RV Port to live even closer. Anything is possible.
