What do you think about this tongue reinforcement?

I got it all prepped and happy to say the tongue wasn't bent at all
It appears to be angled up a little but I ran a straight edge across the bottom and it's perfectly straight
The wife is in town and she's going to pick me up some flux core wire, all I have is solid wire for mig and I want more penetration
I'll post some pics tomorrow when it's finished
