first off, my DW and I thank everyone for all the help. ordered new RAM 3500 CC short bed.which hitch is going to work. do I really need auto slide.need side steps just to get in. suggestions ?will be needing boat loader for top of truckis real scary signing on dotted line, heck I only paid half for the house I am in 42yrs

In my experience its better to have a slider and not need it than the other way round, cabs and rear windows get expensive to repair.... My Pullright came in useful when I least expected it to on several occasions. Nice truck by the way, you must post some pics of it when it comes in!

First off, what trailer do you have? It makes a difference.NOT REESE!!! Those things are trouble I would look at the Anderson Ultimate if you have a shortbed. I just put one in my FIL's truck and it made it where he no longer needs a slider at all. You are going to see guys next tell you the only hitch you can use is a B&W and they are great but that Anderson is a piece of art in it's simplicity and function Chris

If your trailer is 8' wide, and if measuring from the trailer to your truck is less than 48" at some point in a turn you will hit. Depends on angle of turn and if you are in a depression or not. Like what was said above it's good advise. If you plan to do lots of traveling a air hitch does save a lot of wear and tear on the trailer, but they are pricy.

There are many who have towed for years with short bed and no slider and never a problem. There are also those who have knocked out a back window or dented a cab.

installed new Pullright, boy is it big
just picked up new 2015 3500 Ram. went to pick up 2001 cardinal 28. only have 2" clearance. got both to RV repair shop in Corning Ca. he said he could flip axles. is this a good idea or better to use sub frame. BTW was is a sub frame.

that's great, i'm not sure if Ford sell's it as a kit or not. Either way the rail kit was free so i'm not going to complain!

Yup on the dents.(Twice) Now I have a Reese Sidewinder. Works great.

I also went with the Andersen Hitch. I like the idea of being able to easily take out the hitch from the bed.
I tow a 3010RE Bighorn.

I used a rail mount Pull Rite Super-Glide when I had a Ram shortbox. Never had to worry. Shop for one online and save a bundle over what your local dealer will charge.
