- IdaDExplorerStay away from the cheapo hitches and they're mostly going to be good. I'm partial to my rail mount Andersen because there's no slop or noise to it and it's very light and easy to install/remove. I don't like the clunking and clanking I've experienced with other fifth wheel hitches but I doubt there's much of that with the higher end traditional hitches.
- JIMNLINExplorer IIIWhat the best hitch is like asking whats the best truck. As you see its the one that owned at the present time.
I see the Binkley hitch head/then the big Curt mentioned more on commercial websites when a new person jumping into the business ask that type question.
Reese/B&W/others are considered too lite for this type full time work.
RV trailers are only used part time mostly in the warmer months so just about any brand hitch in the proper capacity will serve you well just like thousands of other RV owners out here past and present.
My vote goes to my 21 year old Reese. - Me_AgainExplorer IIIMine is the best! And it is American made.
- Mark_HeislerExplorer IIMy fav is the reese line.
There is a lot of good hitch on the market these days.
Just make sure you get one the the jaws clamp around the hitch and not a just a bar sliding in front.
If you can buy a double pivot they are easeir to unhook and hook up - austinjennaExplorerI will chime in and say to get an air ride hitch. I recently went from a Reese to a trailsaver bd3 and the ride is night and day difference. I had no problems at all with the old one but the new one makes the ride a whole different experience.
- MudChuckerExplorerI have a curt 25k ...i dont recomend them.
To be honest i was much happer with my old hijqcker, the curt is very finicky - RygarExplorerBeing a senior with a bad knee, I really appreciate the fact my Andersen Ultimate weighs 35lbs so I can easily remove it without help.

CURT. It's what I use.
Not very friendly to un hitch as reported by many people and if it matters made in China. I for one have hitched and unhitched an in laws RAM/Curt hitch and it was a PITA to unhitch. He said "I wished I had not gotten this hitch as part of the truck deal and gone with the B&W RVK3600".
None better as far as a non air ride hitch. Simple solid design with no color coding of whether or not you are hitched. - jimh406Explorer IIIWe actually have a lot of people from other forums hanging out here responding on the Campground thread, so probably don't need to move it. Joking ...
I think most of the best hitch questions in the toy hauler or fiver forums boil down to B&W, Reese, or Andersen. There are also some good comparisons on youtube.
One thing to keep in mind that some are better for some tow vehicle configurations and some are better for some types of pins. - BB_TXNomadJust like which is the best truck, it is all a matter of opinion. Any of the name brand hitches are good.
You should ask the moderator to move this to the 5th wheel forum.
