Our rear kitchen 5th wheel ( 29' Carriage Carrilite) we take to Florida for ~2-1/2 months each winter is simply great with no dumb things or other things/features we don't like on or in it. Everything inside can be used or accessed the same with the big slide in except the AC fuse compartment door and one kitchen storage compartment.
Entry door, Fireplace, TV, fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and sink are all on the curb side from the rear area forward. Even our Lazy Boy wall hugger full reclining 2 person love seat couch we bought opens fully flat with the slide in and there still plenty of room in front of the fireplace to pass thru normally walking from the bed all the way to the kitchen. The opening hallway thru to bathroom and bedroom is also closer to the curb side of the RV so nothing is in the way for full RV use even if carrying something. Allows parking in a standard width parking lot size parking space like in a double row front to front car parking lot as the slide never has to move. Really comes in handy as nobody can tell if you are inside the RV or not or maybe in the store shopping.
We wouldn't own an RV that can't be used normally with the slide or slides in. One of the reasons we won't part with this 5th wheel as few or none of the new ones offered by anyone have the same great layout. We really love this 5th wheel and it's been problem and leak free since day one when it was built new for us.
