You have a capable truck, but a class 2 10K GVWR. If you stay under your RAWR, the springs, tires/wheels, will be able to handle the load. There will no DOT issue as mentioned above. Your insurance will cover you when needed, over weight, even impaired, not to say they could not drop your coverage later, after paying the initial claim.
