In truth the 5er you are looking at is only 15k or so away from what a road tractor hauls anyway. You can also get one that has a wheelbase comparable to a F350. A win win for you
Was thinking the same thing...I used to have a tenant that removed the front rear axle slid the rear forward and built a nice deck out checker plate and sold them for about what your looking for.
He now lives in one he extended and built a motorhome on...might be on here for all I know.
