- FastEagleExplorerAccording to current regulations your certification label has the proper tire/rim fitments and recommended tire pressures. The factor used by vehicle manufacturers is the vehicle's GAWR which is also set by the vehicle manufacturer.
Most of the regular posters know that. They would rather use bits and pieces of the regulations to best suit their recommendations.
The best place to get information about brand named tires is at retail locations that stock the brand you covet.

GVWR = 12,200 lb
I am negotiating a purchase of a used trailer (North Shore 31RG) which has 5-6 year old tires and want to include a new set of shoes in the deal.
thanks to all.
Still not enough info.
What size and load rating are the existing tires?

If only a GVW of 12,200#, you could go with "E" rated tires and get the Michelin XPS RIBS..80 psi...
If you go with a "G" rated tire, you need to make sure your wheels can take 110 psi.
Again, what weight tire are you wanting to go with? What Goodyear are you looking at...the Goodyear G614's would definitely be overkill for a 5er with a GVWR of only 12,200#.. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Are you speaking of the Goodyear G614 RST (16" ST tire). In Florida the going price seems to be $350/tire if this is the tire you're asking about. - donn0128Explorer IIFor what? What is your down the road weights. What axle rating?
