What's your overall length?

2014 f350 long box, 2016 cougar 330rbk, total hitched length 56 feet

A ford long box dually crew cab is 22 feet long, tail gate is approx 2 feet, so tailgate down makes 24 feet. Fiver is 30 feet long, so deducting 4 feet of overhang leaves 50 feet (24+26=50). We have a relatively short fiver compared to some of the behemoths out there. There are shorter fivers out there, but they are a little short of roominess. We still have our TC for when we want to get into more remote locals that the fifth wheel won't work, but the 30 footer still fits into smaller provincial and state parks.

Is Double towing this length legal in Ca? I want to bring my rig of the same length there but thought I need a class A!!

Truck- Front bumper to hitch 25'
5th wheel Pin to rear- 43'
Total 67' Or as I like to say, 65 foot 24 inches.... (she thinks it's bigger)

Our rig is 57'(hooked), I measured to determine how far over 65' I would be IF I doubled towed. We have a 2015 DRW RAM 4 door 8' bed and a 39' DRV 38RSSA Mobile Suites.




I ended up being about 6' over length.

I've been watching this for a while, and finally got motivated to measure. We did this many years ago with a previous (slightly longer) 5th wheel.

Truck: 2007 Dodge 4x4, Quad-Cab, 6.7 Cummins, 6 speed manual, Hankook DH 07's

RV: 2004 Teton Freedom

Utility trailer: For hunting and all associated gear

Truck/ RV Total: 58 ft.(connected lenght)

Truck/RV/Utility Total: 76 ft.

DW thought we'd be "too long" with boat(additional 25 ft) behind rv, so got a little class c for boating trips. Plus we couldn't leave state :( (too long), with boat or utility trailer!

50' hitched. 3500 Chevy Duramax SRW short ("standard") bed, Pullrite sliding hitch & Hitchhiker fiver 33'.

54'6" as measured by the Newfoundland ferry people.
