Wheel able to handle G rated tire

Purchased a new Jayco 5th wheel yesterday. The tires on it are Rainier 235/80/16 load range E. I intend to replace them immediately. I cannot find the maximum tire pressure on the wheel, but I did find a stamp that says 3750. My current 5th wheel has the same size tires, but it is stamped 3250. Does anyone know if the new wheel stamped 3750 will accept the load range G tire and 110psi. Service writer is 99% sure they will, and the local goodyear dealer said it sounds like it would be fine. Thanks

Yes, metal valve stems required above 80 PSIG.

  • The LT235/85R16G Goodyear G614 RST is rated 3750 lbs @ 110 PSIG, so you should be good to go.

  • Hi, yes I think they will handle the 110 psi G rated tire because mine are and they have the same weight rating. You will likely find that the pressure rating is stamped on the inside of the wheel when the tires are dismounted. I was lucky and mine were on the inside of the wheel so I knew right away.

What tires are you looking at?
